How can I go back now..?

I got a pair of LSi7`s...
Took them into my office/bear cave..and unhooked the
RT38i`s / RT15i`s,
swaped out amps from the Carver TFM-6C to the rotel RB980-BX, and for the last few days it`s been the Carver M-200t....

I have grown acustomed to the smooth sound of these puppys
listening to stuff like smooth jazz to blues to rock to acustical stuff.....a little of everything....

mostly smooth type jazz....

I don`t think I can go back to the other speaks now and be satisfied...maybe after a while of just hearing those I guess I would get re-aclimated....but...

I had originaly got the 9`s and 7`s along with the LSIc for the HT rig....

I brought the 9`s in for a couple of days, and decided to put em back in the living room before I started selling speaks to get more 9`s....

These 7`s sound real good...:D
So do the 9`s..

I recommend to anybody that is considering these speaks to give them a few sessions before dismissing them .

They seem to present the music and the gear your using quite well.....they are somewhat directional and need to be positioned corectly to fit the area they are in...that`s why I suggest more than one audition before you make a judgement..

once you find the right positioning , they really shine..

my next change out is speaker cables, and I/C`s

you can hear a difference in gear, cables and I/C`s with these speaks, better than before ...

I`m sold...
now what to do with ALL the other speaks..?!!

It is fun swapping gear and different speaks out over and over..!!

I`ve become a music junkie...

is there no help..?

Like a true addict, I`m not sure I take the help even if it was offered...:p

BTW...the 9`s love the Parasound HCA-3500..:D

500wpc for your 9's? You're making mine jealous, and that can't be good... I hear them whispering sweet nothings into my ear about how they'd like some more power... just a taste...

Man, I love my 9's - I finally moved them up from the 18" Vidsonix stands to 30" Sanus Metal stands, since I had a feeling my soundstage wasn't supposed to be in the floor :P And they're actually quite stable before I've even sand filled the stands and Blu-Tac'd the speakers.

They did sound damn fine even at 18", but 30" their depth is complete, listening to The Wall there are times sounds seem to eminate from my cheeks, talk about awesome - and while the Sheep intro on Animals always sounded cool, now it's *actually* coming from behind me, amazing. Conversely listening to Ravel:Bolero the drums sound like they exist in some extradimensional space even beyond the depth of my house, and that's not even an SACD :)

I agree the 7's sound amazing as well, though they just can't compete with the 9's once you get up to reference levels - but for modest SPL levels they're probably one of the best bargains out there.

There is no help for us, but when you hit rock bottom with your audio gear and become a male prostitute to buy a new IC for your left rear channel, you can realize what you've become and sell it all back at 80%, try doing that with heroin!

    LOL...

you live close to the city yes..?!!:D

I agree...the 7`s are perfect for my office / cave

The 9`s, when a/b`d with the 7`s really showed me the difference in the two..

I also have mine on 30" stands..
They were on top of the RT2000i`s, with a piece of padding between them , as not to scratch them..
They filled the room really well, but I am very happy with them at 30"

I would like to get 36" stands , but I don`t think they would very stable

what , in your opinion works better for HT..

    LSi`s..7`s , 9`s & LSiC...maybe FXi`s..

    or my current set up..

    RT55i`s & 2000i`s front
    RT35i`s side
    245c
    FX30`s rear (or rear side)

I also have 15i`s and 38i`s that I was going to incorperate

I switched the 38`s for the 35`s because the seemed to match/blend better

of course we can`t forget the SVS PC ultra in the corner..:D
she`s got all of about 8 hrs on her so far....

I had a pair of LSi15's and purchased my LSi7's from brett. (I purchased my amp to run the 15's) Was going to run the 15's in the front and the 7's as rear speakers.

Unforturnatly since the setup was in my living room, my wife got equal input to the system and it was decided that the 7's were to large to "hide" on the wall as surrounds. (that explains my 6600 surrounds)

I tried both the 15's and 7's as the front speakers and with them both set to small (my AVR only has settings for large and small, so the speakers either crossed to the sub at 80hz or ran full range), they sounded identical as front speakers. (both run from my external amplifier) I ended up keeping the much cheaper 7's and returning the 15's.

If I end up finishing a HT in the basement, I will either repurchase the 15's for my front stage or (more likely) get the new tweets for an old abused pair of SDA 1b's that I have and use them for the fronts. (with the new tweeters they are supposed to match pretty well with the LSiC.) I would probably stay with the 7's for rear channels (5.1) or add a pair of LSiFx as side surrounds (7.1).

All depends on money. - time to hit the streets. :D
