Banana Plugs and Nuts on binding posts

Ok so for ten bucks I picked up some AR banana plugs to try out since I've never tried them before. I'm curious if I should be removing the nut on the binding post completly then insert the banana plug... the manual says put the nut back on after taking out the plastic cover thing but I find that the plug doesn't go down fully and seems to be a bit loose when I use them with the nuts on. Any ideas?
btw here are the plugs I have
Thanks,
Michael

usually you put the nuts back on, but that's just so you don't lose the damn things. If you get a tighter fit without your nuts, then there's no reason not to ditch them.
huh. just read that last sentence over again. why do I feel like i'm going to end up in Sid's sig?Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

True... but I just thought of something. Since I'm using LSI 7's they are bi-wireable and have a metal jumper between the binding posts. Doesn't the nut help keep the jumper down and maintain contact between the two sets of binding posts..? I'll fiddle and see how it works with the nuts on.If you get a tighter fit without your nuts, then there's no reason not to ditch them.
hehe yea I bet you end up in someones sig with that -
Yeah, if you have biwire jumpers, you'll need the nuts to hold them down. I guess you could make some jumpers that come off the same banana plugs, but you'd probably be better off getting some spades at that point.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

you may wish to keep the nuts on and make your own jumpers with extra cable
