Cathy - It happens to these folks over here way more than it does in the HT area....and the CA gang takes care of them swiftly.

Cody - We're not all old, and what are you talking about exactly?

Theres only like 3 of us from the CA side that post over here and Im the only one of them that post on a regular basis and to date havent had a brawl with anybody although this is shaping up to be the first!

This is an off topic forum for Club Polk and I dont recall reading anywhere in the rules that its exclusive to the HT side so until I get banned Im going to continue to post here.

it just pisses me off sometimes that in the forum where both CA and HT post theres always a biased attitude against the CA forum.
I'm asking this as a question, not to be a dick, but what is the hardest thing about HT when comparing to CA? You guys dont have half the factors to deal with than a car to achieve good sound quality...

i'm guessing alot of the people that want to achieve good sound quality in HT don't give a squat about doing so in their cars, so the challenges you face are equally meaningless to them.

i think the CA folks should feel free to post wherever they please, but posing questions like this is just *trying* to get people into a pissing contest.

i never said it was meaningless to me, im looking forward to installing an HT system soon. It was an honest question, if you guys arent "mature" enough to handle it as one, then thats not my problem.

if you meant it as an honest question, then fine, but you included the phrase:

"You guys dont have half the factors to deal with than a car to achieve good sound quality..."

which indicates you feel "separated" from "You guys" and a "my dick is bigger than yours" type attitude. if you are so sure about the relative "factors" involved why do you even need to ask the question?

    mature...

One thing, this is not the HT side. It is the Home Audio side with HT being only a part of it.

if you truly are not sure, then why did you feel the need to compare the two and ignorantly (since you are not sure) make a comment about it?

all i'm saying is if you want to get help or advice from someone, don't start off by saying "yeah, the stuff I do is way harder than this..."

its unnecessary and makes you seem insincere.

Both 'sides' have the same amount of problems to work with. however, Cars are much easier to fix than a house...

If your car rattles...dynamat it, etc...

if your house rattles...WELL...ya know ;)

    Anyways, this is stupid...

And, Codey...Russ meant your posts looks like a huge signature...lol

Cody - :D Ok. I'm sure noone has any problems with posting in either forum, I certainly don't care. Grimster for example was hardcore HA....and then had the CA bug re-ignited.....that's fantastic.

I would agree that there are more factors to deal with in CA than there are in HA. I've done my share of car audio installs, but I don't do the things now, that I did when I was younger...priorities change from time to time you know what I mean?

Hell, my car has a Bose system in it....and I hate Bose...but it sure sounds good while I'm driving.

    Exactly.

Both car audio and home audio are challenging and rewarding hobbies. Nobody is denying that nor are they trying to say one is better than the other. Again, audio is audio its just our taste in venues is different.

What got our hackles up, and mine specifically, was being treated like a bunch of 16 year old dolts that wouldnt know the difference between a subwoofer and a hole in the ground. Myself, Cody, Neomagus, AusinKP, Jstas and PoweredByDodge are all very knowledgable and have systems that are not only loud in some cases but also sound very good (except mine cause I need a new sub). And would anybody dare question Josh or Thom's knack?

Dont associate the car audio side with the nitwits that you see driving along with 12 flea market subs in the trunk with sheet metal rattling all to hell and we wont associate home audio folks with effete, snooty "audiophiles" that look down their nose at anybody that doesnt have seperates.

Who in the HELL said anything about REPAIRING?

My example of my statement was SOUND DEADENING and VIBRATIONS...

If you buy a house, and you put a subwoofer in it, and it sounds like its going to fall in with each bass note...there isnt much you can do...SURE, you can take down the sheetrock...brace the studs, insulate more, glue, ETC ETC... after you do that...it'll cost...HOW MUCH?

If your car rattles and shakes...you take out the seats..carpet...etc and apply some dynamat...etc

    ...

    Yeah ok...

And while I'm at it, I've done ALOT of remodeling, and I'd rather do car work over cutting out termite eaten floor joyces ANYDAY...ANYTIME.

Jeeeeeez, I don't know much bout cars...but I have remodeled enough houses to have my fair share of fixing sh*tty jobs

C'mon people give the bitching a rest and just go to your car or man/woman cave and relax with some nice tunes ;) . You did. Or did you forget about this little gem?

"Cars are much easier to fix than a house..."

Notice the word "fix" which has the definition of:

    fix (fks) n.
    1. The act of adjusting, correcting, or repairing.
    2. Informal. Something that repairs or restores; a solution: no easy fix for an intractable problem.

And for the rest who want to jump all over me for something else that they don't get, I never said repairing a house was easy nor did I imply it. All I said was that the statement made was grossly over generalized and completely off-base. Maybe it wasn't a nice way to say it but rather than have some bastarized meaning of what I actually intended be perpetuated, I chose to make myself clear. Why don't we try READING the posts instead of sticking our foots in our mouths and getting our panties in a bunch? Sound like a good idea?

Oh yeah, houses I have remodeled = 3

    Care for another pissing contest?

Better yet, I'll beat you to the punch!

    Cars rebuilt = 7
    Engines rebuilt = 12
    Car stereos installed = 22

Needless to say, I'm speaking from experience.

BTW, the word is JOISTS not "joyces".

If you can do web design, wouldn't you want to have a few reference sites that you've done? Then you go spatting off about other's being forum thugs when it's you who is being all thugish and aggressive. Wow man... seriously wow.
