Considering the monitor 30 package is around $200 more expensive, which one do you think is more worth it?

Most probably the monitor package, just the sheer size difference is one. The bigger drivers in the M30 can handle much more than the RM package you are considering.

hmmmm...... maybe i should be more specific. for $800 i can get the monitors with the cs1 and psw10 and an onkyo tx-sr302, but for $60 less i can get the rm6800 and the onkyo txx-sr502 (much better receiver) so which one is more worth it?

Get the nicer receiver, and then buy the bookshelves, and whatever else you can (Subwoofer, center, and then surrounds) You'll be spending more money, but in the long run it'll be worth it. It took me a couple months to put together a full 5.1, but I'm glad I took my time, I'm sure you would be too.
