I'm out finding treasures this weekend, and a old friend of mine that i just picked up a nice sencore tube tester for my own use and some 6gh8a tubes, like 100 nib... and i read online that it can be a replacement for the 7199 tube used in the ST-70 amps... i think you have to change the pin out.. but can be done easily?? any info on these tubes?

It's not a substitue for the 7199. The have SOME similar characteristics, but the pinout is not even close.
Sovtek is making 7199's if you need them.

Nah, my friend gave them to me when i bought his tube tester.. he's about 70 years old and ive known him for years.. used to be a CB tech and now retired and he has all kinds of equipment and some radio tubes... so i already own the tubes and wanted to know if they were used for anything we all were into...
Thanks for the info thoughMY HT RIG:

6GH8's were fundamentally TV tubes (RCA's e.g., used a mess of 'em, in the chroma circuits, IIRC).
BUT:
Some Scott amps (e.g., the LK-72 I just got) used 6GH8's for phase splitters, so they may be of value to somebody!
Also, the vintage color TV crowd (yes, there are those that collect vintage TV's!) might be interested.
