Currently my setup is JVC HU, Polk 6.5" 2ways, Alpine 6.5" 2ways..and i just ordered a PolkMomo 10inch Sub and MTX amp. i wasnt looking to add alot of bass to my system, just enough to hear it good. is 1 sub good enough or should i get a 2nd one?

p.s. wanna just say those 6.5" polks give out crazy mid-bass..i am very impressed with them. im POLK all the way now!

you should be fine with 1 10", if you have a normal sedan or hatchback. if you have a convertible or an SUV you'll probably need another or a bigger one.

many people find that feeding a sub twice the wattage they're feeding the fronts works well. so if you're pushing 150 W or less on your speakers, you should be fine.

if you're pushing up to 250 (a lot for fronts) you might want the 12, if only for its ability to keep up volume-wise with the rest of the system.

    offhand, i'd say you're good with 1 10"

I agree with the single 10. Im a single sub kind of guy anyway. It makes things so much simpler and you get just as much bass out of a single sub as you can with 2 for less money and space taken up.

This is especially true in SQ. For best sound quality bass is not supposed to be any louder than the rest of the music. Its supposed to be an extension of the midrange and midbass and not be the heart of the music (except for rap, but we're talking about music).
