My brother had an awakening of sorts.

His cd player died and he was asking me to help him find one cheap. I had two spares in the basement that I've been mucking with and the a rotel 955ax.

I'd been giving him a hard time for driving his energy 22's with a cheap yammie receiver so he asked to borrow it and some separates to try for himself.

He's stunned at the difference a good cd player and amp can make. The amazing thing is the rotel amp is only 40ish wpc and probably their entry level home theatre amp.

He's now mulling how he's going to afford separates and how to convince me to sell him the cd player. He apparently doesn't want the yammie 5 disc player I offered for free.

I'll probably let him have it for $50 and since it's his b'day coming up I'll start looking at the flea market for some gear.

Funny thing is I was in his shoes two years ago before I found Club Polk. Thanks everyone.

regards

Dave

    There's your flaws right there.

    1. if you're going to do a Polk sub, don't do the PSW12 unless you really like port noise. Get the PSW404 bare minimum. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
    2. hahahahaha, good joke. I thought you were serious for a second.
    3. If you get the right amplification, you'll need more than wet naps... you'll need towels. :p

I was just rattling some gear off the top of my head. Although those are my favorite Polk speakers that Ive actually heard. Never auditioned the LSi's or the like.

So do I. I absolutely love my TV. Granted the only other thing Sony I'd own is a PS2... ha ha I don't like underpowering, overpromising my speakers. :p
