I'm considering these as the first step of a 2nd audio system which will be for my computer. I'm obviously trying to keep this system on a lower budget. I've been also considering the Polk R15's I've seen advertised on e-pay. My general impression based on what I've read is the Athena AS-B1 should be a little more accurate sounding. Keep in mind I'm not trying to build a giant killer here, but I want it to sound good.

I haven't considered what I'm going to power them with yet. Probably leaning towards a used integrated. I'll be ripping my music to FLAC files and running through a DAC. A similar set-up to what my brother is using. He has the Lsi-7's and an Adcom integrated. I'm not paying Lsi money for speakers in this system.

I've heard good things about the Athena's, and B.B. has them on sale for $120/pr. What do you all think? Are the AS-B2 worth the extra money? This is just the first step of something I'm kicking around right now.

Thanks

The AS-B2 is well worth the upgrade. You can get them NIB on Ebay for $175. They're a pretty big bookshelf, about the same as the Rti6 in size.
