Need Some Opinions

I thinking about doing some upgrading, and I am looking for opinions on if its worth it. The change would be as follows:

From:
Polk T90es Front Left and Right, with CS1 in the center.

To:
Polk RTi8's Front Left and Right, with CSi3 in the center.

Already have FXi3s on sides, and Monitor 50's in rear. Would move the T90es to the rear, and use Monitors elsewhere.

Looking for opinions on whether this would be more of a lateral move with little expectation of improvement, or do you think it would lead to an improvement in sound. System is used for 99% movies. I value the opinions of this forum.

I would say that it would be more of a lateral move. I vote for saving your money till you can really make an obvious upgrade.

Just my take. Good luck either way.

I don't know that you'd get much "bang-for-your-buck" out of that move. Seems more like a move sideways than an upgrade, but I don't know how strongly you feel about the Rti8/Csi setup...

Arent the T90's supposed to be European versions of Monitor 50's? If so, I thought the RTi's were better than the Monitors.

It's definitely an upgrade. If you're going to do it, I'd put the CSi5 in as the center though.

Decided to go ahead with the upgrade. Had to sratch that itch. My local dealer didn't carry the CSi5, so I went with the CSi3. The room is small enough that the 3 will do the job.

Happy I made the move, can already hear a little more detail, and a nice smooth sound that fills the room nicely. I would image after a break-in period the sound will only get better. I sure had nothing to lose. Now I'll work on seating and other room modifications.

Says who? Speakers should be a purely subjective purchase. Doesn't matter if it cost $200 or $20,000, it depends on what you like.
