Anybody got a violin on the cheap side they want to unload?
Seems my daughter may be interested in something other than talking on the phone and being a smart ****.

Thanks for the offer, but that might be to complicated for her,
and a flute makes me think of "This one time at band camp....."

Option 1:
Find a local store that offers the "one year buyback" guarantee. Bought my trombone this way...paid full price up front, the buyback is prorated at the monthly rental rate.
Option 2:
Rent it. Down side is that it's financed. Upside is that is that it's open ended.

I'm sure you have the equivalent in your area. -
Acoustic guitar, man!

See what Dennis Gardner can do for you.
If I remember correctly, his parents own a music store(as in instruments) in the northwest part of the state.Tschüss

Definately let him know that I sent you his way. He always takes great care of friends and family. He may hook you up on a rental program that will let her try it out without much risk on your part.

It might seem that way, but flute is actually tons easier. I'm prepping to be Music Major (That or engineer, haven't decided) and one thing I've learned, is less maintainence, it makes life much easier.
Does the school have a couple instruments she could try so she could see which one she likes the best?
