This is a shout out to Doro for being a most excellent host for me today. Good company, excellent grub, and great tunes. For all of you on the fence about attending the gathering in September, if your even half way serious about this hobby, you owe it to go if just to meet some of these charactors face to face.
Anyway, I figured I'd attach Doro's new Maggie enhancement device (MED to you newbies) Otherwise referred to as a wooden dowel. This set-up will now be my new reference. Thanks for upping the ante, I was running out of things to upgrade... NOT

There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. It was great to see James again, since I was a hangover zombie at TPG2 when we first met. If I had realized how close he actually lived, I would have had him down sooner. I hope he will look forward to coming down again, prior to the actual gathering....F1Not and BlueMDpickle have yet to astound him.
We really had a good time and he turned me onto some real good music that I would never have purchased otherwise....specifically Blue Man Group, Alison Krauss - Union Station and Renee Olstead. Renees' voice is amazing to listen to and the Maggies were in full bloom today. My favorite song of the day was Maceo Parker - Life on the Planet Groove(LIVE) - "Georgia" on the Maggies....I don't think it was James' thing, but it sounded so damn good I felt like a chick.
We listened to ADS L570, B&W DM1400 and Magnepan MMG.
I knew that for Maggies, the upright position is the best tweak, but never really gave it much thought until today when James was sitting and as I moved them and explained that fact, he said "Hey can you do that to both of them while I sit here?"
That is what created the $0.35 Maggie Enhancement Device(MED)...which was a old wooden dowel. After we tweaked them, they never moved from that position, and Maggies ruled the day. No other speakers were rotated into the lineup. They have never sounded as good as they did today, and my vigor is solidified in these speakers. They are so very unique and have excited me from a listener standpoint far beyond SDA's. They are quickly becoming my new reference speaker for material.
I had also forgotten all about the Telarc sampler disc, and after some 16hz shuffle with TRex....it's on the top of my to get list. There is something very strange about ultrasonic bass, and you gotta love it when you can actually produce it.
The Maggies had such an effect, that it even got Mark Long to stop talking long enough to say, "Wait a minute, I LIKE these!" Just kidding Mark, but if you've met him, you know he's great to talk with as he's very animated and fun. He shows what truly good audio can do to a person....instant passion.
I whipped up some burgers....and we ate and checked out some HDTV, but it was quickly back to the musical drugs.

Just when I thought I had found sweet contentment in audio bliss, you had to pull out the MMG's. Those made almost as much impact on me as the SVS did a while back. (Sigh, where's my checkbook and what can I sell next)?
James, it was nice meeting you. You have a great taste in Music, I will check out some of those CD's.
Doro, again thanks for being a great host. Sorry I had to leave so quickly. I apologize for cursing you the whole way home as MMG W(all Mountable)'s kept dancing in my head.

Aaaaah. Thanks for sharing. Looks like you guys had an excellent time listening to music.
I posted a thread on the 2ch forum a long time ago asking about speakers that kick **** on vocals and a lot of people recommended the MMG's. They will be my next pair of speakers for easy listening. I will remember this cheap tweak. Anybody know how the sound of Maggies differ from Martin Logan electro stats?
