Anyone going to pick up the new Queens of the Stone Age album next Tuesday?

I really liked their last one, Songs for the Deaf. They are one of the few new bands that are able to emerge from the overwhelming modern crap rock that is everywhere. I may make this one a blind purchase.

Anyways, gonna buy it? Wait on it? Never heard of 'em?

I would have bought it yesterday, but it was sold out at BB.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Being a huge QOTSA fan i was really stoked for this album...i dont like it near as much as their previous albums. I sure i'll listen to it a few more times to make sure. But i dont necessarily recommend it unless you are a large fan.

Songs for the deaf was a great album....my first QOTSA album. Dave Grohls drumming was awesome. Wish he had stayed with them.

it would have nice if he had stayed...but i believe he was just a studio drummer, not a true member of the band.

Being a studio musician is where its at =)

I listened to about 3/4 of the album tonight, via MP3. I liked it. I will buy it. It seems to be more of the same. No one uber catchy single (which is fine) but all tracks done with excellent musicianship. Their music continues to be dark, grungy and mischeivous.

Side note: the RIAA can suck it. Its because I listened to illegal MP3s that I will be purchasing this album. Had I not done that which they do not want done, they would have missed a sale. Screw them. I still content that filesharing exposes the masses to music they otherwise would not have heard.

Well, on my way home from purchasing the album, one of the local radio stations played 'Little Sister', the first single of the album. Except, they didn't just play it normal.

You know the SNL skit with Christopher Walken, the Cowbell Skit? Well, instead of Don't Fear the Reaper, everytime in the skit when the music would start, they played Little Sister instead. It features plenty of cowbell. Anyways, long story short, they played the whole altered skit and by the end I had to pull over from tears of laughter making it impossible to drive.

    Holy cow that was funny.
