Re : The PRO LX-4 monitors with the remarkable reputation for sounding like $1K Vandersteen's after a few cheap modifications - Have any of you ever tried this? Do any of you know of a website with a tutorial on the procedure? I have the description of the mods from the Dick Olsher "Black Dahlia" webpage, but I was looking for something with photos. I was also looking for even further mods, as I seem to remember hearing about a few additional ones over the years. I'm surprised there's not a website devoted solely to modding Radio Shack speakers, as there have been many models over the years that people like to tweak. I just picked up a pair of LX-4's cheap and would like to get started...

Can you post a picture of yours? I haven't seen a pair of LX-4's in a LONG time. Great speaker, even without mods.

RuSsMaN, Sorry, they're enroute via UPS as of this morning, so I have't received them, yet! I'll have my kid snap a photo and I'll post it when I get 'em. BTW, are you the same R-Man as on the S&V forums?

Not the same, I'm the original, all the rest are cheap imposters.

    Cheers,

I recently sold a pair of unused LX-4's to Grumpy. He put them in his daughter's bedroom.
