Sorry no extended peronal experience with that sub. Heard it a couple times in passing when I was auditioning the e:xl 28p's I once owned. If the sub was anything like the 28's it was probably outstanding for the money.
I have had much time around PSW202's. The 202 is good for the money, but I am certain that the energy will FAR out perform it.
In case you don't already have it here is a link to the info booklet for the xl series subs.

Checked out the 12 and sis not enjoy the soundand it was not shielded. My wife pointed out the 10, has the same engine as the 12 but smaller woofer, the 12 went down to 20hz and the 10 to 23hz. The 10 blew me away. reg price 600CAD paid 350$ what a deal !! brought it home and it kicks major A$$. I loaded some cds and my wife noticed sounds that we never heard. The same with movies.
The only thing is the sub's auto on is very sensitive, there is a blue light on the front wich goes on and off. It kicks in when it's supposed to but I wish I didn't have to see the light go on and off.
