I have a Rotel RSP-980 I use as a stereo preamp and it has an outlet on the back. Is it ok to plug my amp into there so I dont have to switch them both on separately or should I plug the amp into a separate wall socket?

Thanks in advance!

Don't plug anything into your preamp or receiver that draws significant current. Therefore, plug the amp into the wall outlet. ;)

but I read somewhere that plugging it into your fridge will not let your washer work with colored clothes. What's your experience with this?

    Quite the contrary...

The whites get really cranky while the colored clothes make oos and ah noises in the spin cycle...

Is that what you call it?

I knew I saw something funny outside...turns out it was just my neighbor...

    However...

Now days I think they call that -indecent exposure-
