Over the weekend I got word that my uncle was very frail and not eating. I was preparing to write a request for prayers but he seemed to make a comeback. He died today.
He was my last uncle from both sides of the family and was about 83 years old. He had a variety of interests that he enjoyed as a lyricist, pianist, playwright, actor, poet, photographer and auctioneer. Over the years he fed several generations of descendents of a cat that came to his kitchen door decades ago searching for food. I had both my first draft pints of Guinness and games of snooker with him in Ireland. I think I have him to thank for my appreciation of quality over quantity.
Since he was a jovial fellow, I'm sure he'll be dancing somewhere on St. Patrick's day -- the day he will be buried next to his family. I'm not starting this thread for a long list of condolences, just that perhaps you think of him briefly while watching a St. Patrick's day parade. Thanks.
P.S. I had one of those rare "waking dreams" last night which would have been about 2 hours after he died. I was dreaming of me as an old man flipping through my phonebook calling old friends but they had all died and I was putting a slash through their names in my phonebook. Weird.

I wasn't thinking clearly when I mentioned parades, which are usually held on the weekend before actual holidays. Raising a glass would be best. Thanks.

Ill say a prayer, have a half an half and a couple of fingers of some Jamesons, and bid him Aloha. WarrenSome final words,
"If you keep banging your head against the wall,
you're going to have headaches."

May it comfort you and your family to know that he's now in a better place.
