I stopped on the way home from work last night at Best Buy and bought a Logitech / Harmony H659 Remote. So far, I love it. You connect the remote to your PC with a USB cable (supplied), install the software (supplied), it takes you to their website. After a short registration process and firmware upgrade process, it asks you to input the equipment you have and asks you a few questions, then voila, it downloads the configuration to the device and it works wonderful so far! At $149.00 it's a little expensive, but I had to do something, I was in remote control hell. The guy at Best Buy said that they had already sold 3 of them yesterday, I made the 4th.

Those Harmony remotes are definitely the best bang for the buck out there. Lots of power for the money, and extremely easy to set up. I've played around with remotes many times more expensive, and unless you have a special application for them, I would definitely choose the Harmony remotes over them!Brian Knauss

I agree, the Harmony remotes are the easiest universal remote i have ever used, love it.

Picked one up myself when factorydirect.ca had a sale last month. $119.00CAN - They are $199.00 CAN at retail.
I'm very pleased with it so far. It fits my hand well, and is comfortable to operate. The fact that you have a HELP button to troubleshoot is very useful.
Two thumbs way up from me! -
Welcome to the "Harmony Family". Now that you got the basics done, try some of the more advanced options like the custom text, etc. For my Listen to Music macro, it goes to the CD 1 slot in my changer and starts playing the first track.
