I have a simple 2-channel setup at my computer. Currently, I am using an old Kenwood Prologic I reciever with 100 watts on the front two channels. I was using an old Pioneer Sx-1280 before this (it just stopped one day) which is 185 watts per channel. My speakers are Polk RT5s. (Weak I know but, I am 16) Would it be worth it to get the pioneer amp working?

Get an estimate. The "SX" series Pioneer is stuff is pure GOLD buddy. The SX-1280 is a monster, and beautiful piece of machinery...

Get it repaired......unless something very major is wrong it is well worth it.

Thanx for the information. Time to load up the beast (I mean BEAST!!!) and take it out to the local electronics store.
