I do more lurking here than posting. But it has been good to see Sid "grow up" here on this forum. I can remember the days when it seems he was always embroiled in some argument with someone, arguing about armor all on his speaker cones, etc.

Sid reminds me alot of myself when I was his age. I didn't have as much money to spend on stuff as he seems to have at such a young age, but I was constantly taking everything apart (much to my parent's dismay) seeing if I could improve on something or tweak something. I always had to know how something worked inside.

Dude! so you were like 12 and collecting home theater gear???

When I was 12 I had a 13" black and white TV for my Commodore 64 computer, enjoying all 3 network channels and occasionally one of the UHF channels.

Your set up is light years ahead of what it once was. Especially after the first paint job and set up.

That's alright. As long as you're into audio more than video, the TV shouldn't be a problem. Try this the next time you do your 2ch music listening. cover up your TV with a THICK blanket. You won't believe how much improvement you'll get in the soundstage and overall presentation.

    Thanks for the suggestion...

I may have to give that a try, its a tad harder with a DVDP and VCR on top of the TV, a heavy cover might actually bring the entire DVDP down...being a lightweight as it is...

Man as far as TVs go, 'F' getting a wide screen or plasma tv for $4000. Regular CRT tv's can be had for a song nowadays since the 16:1 tv's are so popular.

Back in 2001 when I bought my Sony 27" tv, it was $500 and you couldnt touch a 32" for less than $600. Last time I was in Best Buy, you could get a very nice Toshiba 35" for $500!!!!!! Thats the way Im gonna go! Ill take a 35" for $500 over a 16:1 for $4000 anyday!!

What a difference a few years make. Great looking setup you have going there!

You didn't get rid of the framed Howdy Doody picture did you??! There are a lot of collectors that will pay handsomely for that piece. ;)
