Upgrading Rti38 to Rti70
Greetings from Barcelona.
Actually have Rti38 for mains. I have found a pair of Rti70 for a good price. How much will i notice the upgrade?
My subwoofer is a psw202 and my receiver a Marantz 4300.
One thing worries to me: Polk says that the power of receiver can be between 20 and 250 w. for the rti70. My marantz is 80 w (I think much less). How the rti70 will sound? Will I have enough power? Can I damage the rti70?
Thanks to everyone.

You would notice a sizable difference in bass response from the RTi70's and your midrandge will probably be a little different(I'm not sure if it would be better or worse, just different).
I've been a big fan of using bookshelves instead tower speakers in most applications. I've had RT3's, RT5's, RT35's, and LSi7's integrated with a subwoofer.
I think you might have addressed this in an earlier post, but is there any way you could get a better suboofer instead? I think you will notice a more dramatic improvement in your whole system with a higher quality subwoofer that you would by just switching to the RTi70's.
Also, are you going to be using these speakers more for movies or 2 channel listening.
If you watch movies more, then a sub would be a better upgrade.
If you listen to music more, then the RTi70's will give you a fuller sound.
You will not damage the speakers with your receiver. It is a high current design, so it will be adequate for your needs. With that said, eventually, with the 38's or 70's, you might consider adding a separtate amplifier to get a little more(better) sound from them.
Hope this helps.

The Rti70's will work fine. You'll hear a significant difference between the 38's and 70's, especially for home theater. Your receiver has enough power to drive them and you won't damage them with the Marantz. I don't know what you plan to do, but the 38's will work great as rear speakers.
Next upgrade should be your subwoofer.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub
