HI I just bought a new stereo, speakers, and amp for my car. Please tell me what you think ...

db6500 -> Back speakers
MMC460 -> Front speakers
Alpine 9830 stereo
12 gauge stinger wires for back speakers
600W amp kit
140,000 MFD Capacitor < http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5755021304 >
AMP -> BOSS C-150 200W

Front speakers are really nice, but the sound in the back speakers is really bad, i can't get any base. And the amp makes a very small difference. I am thinking of selling that amp and buying a new one. What would be a good amp to buy for my db6500 speakers, possibly an amp that isn't very expensive .

THANKS !

    Well, first - that capacitor was listed incorrectly as 140,000 MFD(Mega farad). It should be 140,000 uF(micro farads). A 140k MF cap wouldn't even fit in your house. Second, 140,000 uF is 0.14 farads, or 1/10 a farad. That cap will do very little - if anything - for the "huge bass surge" that the dude advertised. His description for the whole thing was a huge load of BS.

    As far as the bass, you have to realize that they're only 6.5" speakers. No matter how much power you throw at them, you're not going to get a ton of bass. Second, the install is important. Is that Boss amp 200W peak or RMS? An inexpensive, fairly decent amp is the Profile California line. They put out their rated power, and aren't bad for the money.

    Are you driving the front speakers off the HU and the rears off the amp? I didn't quite catch that.

    The Amp has 200Watt peak.
    40w x 2 RMS Power at 4 Ohms

    Also the front speakers are off the HU, and the rear off the AMP.

    How many watts should I put for the back speakers?

    140,000 MEGA farads? Gawdamighty! Thats 1,400,000,000,000!! :p

    Austin is right. Youre 6.5 speakers aint gonna make much bass. You could make an enclosure for them but it still wouldnt make much difference.

    Second of all, that is not a very good amp. Its a Wal-Mart brand. Do yourself a favor and get a high quality amp. This MTX would be the way to go. This is an awesome amp and for $155 is impossible to beat. It would put out about 75x4 which would be just fine for those speakers. If you can afford $55 more get this one which would be a perfect match for your speakers.

    Then start looking for a sub. Thats the only way youre going to get any bass.

    Depends on the speakers. For those DB's I would say it will be ok. Also you will probably be setting the gain on the rear speakers lower than the fronts so imaging so theyll be getting less power than the fronts.
