OK people I'm in a kind of bad situation... project due on friday and not much time left to do it. (work the next couple days after school etc..) My part of the 5 person project is to take spify scenes out of Battle of Britain (studying wwII) but I can't figure out how to do it. I tried using dvd decrypter to burn it as an iso image and stuff like that but no luck yet. Looks like this'll be a late night for me till I figure it out.
Any help would be sweet as I would like to sleep tonight .
Thanks,
Michael

DVDShrink can be used to rip the parts out. It can be downloaded for free. Then use Nero or whatever to burn to disk.

But how do I get dvd shrink to rip just parts of it to my hd? When I just burn the main movie does it burn it as a mpeg or vcd or somethign that I can later just drag onto the disk to my comp?
-
It will analyze the DVD, then it will split it up into folders by chapter. Then you can drag a chapter over (in DVDshrink), and set beginning and end points in the chapter to slim it down. Then you tell it to make a backup of your selections to your hard drive, then burn it.

You don't need to spend a dime. You can get DVDShrink & DVDDecryptor and set Shrink to ISO (as well as numerous other settings) and then it will open up Decryptor to burn your movie.

I can't seem to get it to seperate into chapters... I clicked reauthor and I'm using dvd shrink 3.2. All I have is the different menus, the title (all in one not chapters) and extras. Sorry if I'm missing something here I'm kinda tired but thanks for the help.

Michael,
Not to sound like a parent, but when was the project assigned? The purpose of education is to teach you how to think. If I gave you the answer, that would be considered cheating. At least that is what it was called when I did my degrees. I could tell you how to write the famous algorithm "The Sieve of Erathosthenes", but you would not be using your brain, just mine. Break down the logic of the equation into small components and walk yourself through the process. Do some research! Ask your team mates. God knows how we determined the log of a number years ago. Hell that was something you looked up in a log table. Square root of 18263, use a pen, paper and your brain. Education today is a walk in the park. If you need the answer, all you have to do is key in a few words into Goggle and the answer is there. My son is 6 and he can do multiplication, division, addition & subtraction up to any multiple of 12 in his head and on paper. Actually, he can use the calculator, but we leave that for more complicated computations. Sorry for the sermon, but if the art of learning just involves asking questions and receiving answers, then sign me up for the PhD in nuclear physics. The real world does not work this way.

Just drag over what you got and look at it, like below: -
Ok so I managed to manually seperate it into chapters. Now its just burning to a disc (couldn't get it to go to hd just to disc...) so I'll let ya know what happens from there. Thanks for the directions, very helpful.
