I could pick this stuff up for cheap. Opinions?

A guy at work might be interested in letting some stuff go.
Sony STR-S355 amplifier along with separate graphic EQ and FM tuner (I'm guessing this was one of those "all-in-one box separates kits" from the late 80's), and a Yamaha CD-500 Natural Sound CDP.
I can't really obtain any info on these pieces (Sony doesn't appear to have any info on the amp on their site, and Yamaha's vintage products section starts with the "CD-501"... omits the CD-500), and am not sure what the power rating on the amp is. Is it worth a couple of bucks for me to buy it? I could always use another CDP (I always seem to be short...), and amps, hey, who can't use amps?
Just curious if anyone has experience or a site that I could find info on. Thanks,
Nadams

I think the Yamaha CD-500 was a 5-disc player, but not positive...Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

Hmm, I saw the equipment, and it appeared to have a single tray, but it could've been a cartridge system. I'll have to double check. Unfortunately, the equipment isn't in a very accessable place, so to pull it out to check wattage ratings, etc, is going to be tricky. I may do it if I decide I'm more interested. I guess I should see what the guy wants for it, first...Ludicrous gibs!

It's grunt, let it go.
If you need an extra CDP, and that one works, offer up a 20 spot TOPS, not a cent more.
Steve, the 500 was a single disc, the 505 was the changer.

If you need an extra cd player, or 5 disc changer, wait till you've exhausted the possibilities of visiting here on your trip up to Filthy. Choice of JVC's, Sony's, Magnavox's, Yamaha's, Technics.

The Sony is a dog.....get in touch with George about a CDP.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Well, I didn't really _need_ the equipment... it just looked like it might be worth a few bucks. The amp seems large (it's about the size of my current receiver, but it doesn't have the EQ and FM tuner built in, which theoretically leaves more room for the amp stage), but I don't know any specs on it, like I said.
I guess I'll go with you guys on this one. If I need a CDP, I'll be sure to get in contact with GG.
Thanks,
