The CJ PV-14 preamp being a current line up pre-amp, why do I see (to me to many) so many of these amps for sale?

Also I see that this amp uses what CJ calls a "Miniature Vacuum Tube" 6C4 tube. Is this using the same socket as other vacuum tubes common being swapped?

That tube uses a minature 7-pin socket, and has similar characteristics to a 12AU7 (9 pin).

Why they used it, I have no idea. Tell me the complete tube compliment for the PV-14, and whether or not it has a phono stage. I might have some insight.

    Cheers,

    Russ,

This tube design is odd to me as Tubes are "Old" so this being a new pre-amp current I don't understand why using a different tube socket 7 vs 9 pins.

Is this why I see them (many in my eyes) for sale?
