Finally Building my HT Room

I'm finially getting around to rebuilding my basement for a more comfortable home theater (and getting all those wires from hanging off the walls). I'm doing all the work myself (my father is a tv repair man and has an awsume set of tools!). I'm ripping out all the walls, ceiling and floor (re-carpeting), and re-doing the bar area.

One of the big questions I have is what to put on the wall behind the TV. The entertainment center is currntlly in progress (it's mostly open and made of mahagony & birch ply), so you will be able to see a lot of wall. What color should the wall be? Maybe a dark fabric?

The other big one is lighting. Any experience in lighting without the glare (and still be able to hang with friends drinking beer), would be greatlly appreciated.

(also, I haven't been on in a while, but wasn't there a HT forum?).
