When did they stop making the SDA line?
I bought my SDA 2A's in 1987 for $700 in Okinawa ($1,000 in the States I heard). The other contender at the time (for the same price) was a JBL (1000T[?]). The JBL's seemed better on rock, and the Polks better on classical--hence my Polk choice. I've been very pleased. When properly set up, they virtually disappear. Light some candles, turn off the lights, turn up the music, and the speakers and electronics vanish.
Aside from a blown tweeter in 1988, they've been champs (just ask my neighbors).

I believe 1991 was the last year for the original SDA line. The final offerings were the 1.2TL, 2.3TL, and the 3.1TL. SDA made a brief return in the late 90's in the form of the SRT system. Now it would appear to be dead. Hopefully not for good.

Like Stubby says,
SDAs started in 1982 and ended when Polk discontinued their SDA-SRT flagship line in 2000 (or 1999).
