SVS SV25-31PCi vs. HSU VTF-3 MK 2

OK, after a little research I made my mind here what I like:
SVS SV25-31PCi and I can get it for under $600
OR
HSU VTF-3 MK 2 for about same price.
So what do you think guys? Anybody had a chance to compare those two? I need your oppinion.
Center: Polk Audio CSi3 (soon SCi5)
Front: Theater Research TR-2800
Surround: Harman Kardon Sat-HKS-2
Rear: Harman Kardon Sat-HKS-2
Reciver: Harman Kardon DPR-1001
DVD: Onkyo DV-SP301

    Dr. Spec did a shoot out between these subs...

    They both were about the same...

    The SVS came out on top below 25hz, by about 6db...

    You might want to get the 22hz tune for the PCi 25-31 (its free - you have to request it though)

    I thought that the VTF-3 extends much much lower than the 25-31PCi? The VTF-3 is tunable to about 18hz, if I'm not mistaken. At this tune, there is no way the 25-31PCi can beat it.

    Extension, IMO, goes to the VTF3.

    I would personally go with the VTF-3 in this case. The VTF-3 is more comparable to my PC+ (but I think the VTF-3 loses out in this comparison).

    I am pretty sure you were speaking about the STF-3 (which has a stock tune at 25hz). The VTF-3 should murder the 25-31PCi in terms of extension with 1 port covered.

    However, if the VTF-3 is extended to 18hz, I'm not sure how the overall spl output will be affected relative to the 25-31PCi.... my guess is that the 25-31PCi will have a slight edge above 25hz.
