Smallest HT room?

Well, I will be buying a house before too much longer. In said house I would really love to have a dedicated HT room.

What is the smallest room you would even consider putting a 5-6 channel setup in?

I went to the Seattle Home Show earlier this week, and they had a demo room there. It was quite small, but I was suprised at how well it worked. Before then I had just assumed that more or less any house I ended up with would not have a room big enough. I am starting to think differently.

My intentions are to have 5-6 channels, and probably two couches, one in front of the other. I would like to think I would use a projector as well. I really have no screen size in mind though.

Any opinions?

I am currently using an 11x14 and, personally, I think that's too small. It's not too bad for one couch though. For 2 couches I think you'd have close to 20ft at least.

My room is 18x14, unfortunately my roommates won't let me arrange it so the stage is running down the 18 foot length, so the couch is about 8 feet away from my speakers, which makes listening to reference levels a bit harsh. Really wish I had a dedicated room, but that's probably a good 10 years away :p
