another: which sub question

i just installed a Kenwood KDC-W6527 head unit, some 6x9's MMC690 in the back , and a set of DB6500 in the doors. this is all is running on a hifonics zx8000 in a Honda Civic Hatchback.
now i'm looking for a sub, that will have some great bang for the buck.
at first i was looking to buy the MM10 but it came out more expensive than i thought. So now i was looking for some other subs that are less expensive but still be good. I'm probably going with a 10" in a sealed box.
Some subs i looked at are: Alpine type r/s; POLK DB104; JBL; MTX RT10-4.
Thanks for the advice!!

The DB would be my pick from that bunch but for a little more Id rather have the MM2104. I just really like the way the Momo subs sound. Very sweet and smooth.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

I would go with a baby momo - the MM2104 sub... it's probably like 125 or 150 and its a damn fine sub... dump 300 - 400 wrms on it and have at it.
If you don't want to go that route... and want something even cheaper - mtx 6000 is cheap and pimp - so its a JBL GT100.The Artist formerly known as PoweredByDodge -
no go with the Rockford's

Out of that list, I'd go Alpine Type R. But you need to give them at least 4-500w otherwise, you're just not using them to their potential.Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.
Home Setup: Sony VPL-VW85 Projo, 92" Stewart Firehawk, Pioneer Elite SC-65, PS3, RTi12 fronts, CSi5, FXi6 rears, RTi6 surround backs, RTi4 height, MFW-15 Subwoofer.
Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener. -

the hifonics puts out about 300 rms. so this wouldn't be a good choice? even though it has an rms handling of 300? -
I dont have much expeirience with Alpine subs but have heard a bunch and they do sound pretty good. Actually I think they tend to be more SPL oriented. Either way, if its rated at 300 RMS then I think it would be fine running it with the 300 watt Hifonics.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

I recommend a Soundsplinter RL-i 10" sub ( www.soundsplinter.com ). I have one in my car and the output on it is pretty impressive. This thing plays deep and clean. I bought it for $159 dollars, they have single and dual 4ohm models. This little thing weighs 20lbs., and it has 20mm of XMAX. I have it running of a Kicker ZR240 pushing out about 350 watts RMS, it is in a .70 cubic foot enclosure.Alpine: CDA-7949

They have been around for about 6mos or so, not 100% sure on that though. Their subs are made by TC Sounds, the same people that make subs for several aftermarket companies (www.tcsounds.com). My sub is a TC2+ model, they also sell the TC9 model as the RL-p. I was going to get an RL-p 12" this week, but went with the Eclipse CD8454. One of the guys at Maxima.org reffered me to them. He's a very knowledgable guy when it comes to subs, I think he goes by Robert J.Alpine: CDA-7949
