It's awfully depressing, seeing the happy couple and everything before the Tsunami, and to think that that is just one of couples of the masses of people that died...

its the huge amount of water moving, if you dont drown first, youll get sl pic with the person and the boats for perspective. wave in those pictures looks pretty big. check theammed into something that kills you. by the way, the wave is not moving 500 mph when it hits land, but does go that fast when it is still out at sea. its not the height of the wave, its how wide and long it is, and how much water is moving with it.

also, cameras will never give you the true power and perspective of actually being there. if your looking right at the wave like in that last picture, your friggin dead, plain and simple.

My dad has a friend who was vacationing down there, I beleive, his wife and daughter were on the beach while he was out to catch a wave. He got the beginning surge and began to ride the thing out, well, he soon figured he was riding a huge Tsunami, no fun there, he was a very lucky man, he rode the wave and crashed into a tenth floor (!) window in his hotel and his wife and daughter were killed. If only things were a little different... ya know?

man, if only the pictures were a little smaller, I'd get a better idea of what it was like. Sorry, but I can barely see anything. Looks like a crab's perspective of when the tide comes in.
