Sda Cable For Sda II

I have aquired some SDA II speakers but they have no IC. I can build this cable but want to be sure about the BLADE/BLADE connection. I assume the larger blade to the larger blade and smaller blade to smaller blade connecting the speakers together.....? I am sorry if this sounds stupid. Please advise fellows. I dont want to be listening backwards:-)

    PB,

Please let me add to F1, you did not say what you were using to drive the SDA, once you interconnect them you will need to using a common ground amplifier, no mono blocks or non-common ground.

Hello again fellows. I decided bypass the stock connector. I dropped 3/4" below it and installed a set of female bananna terminals. These type were used in the Vandersteens for so long. They are flush mounted and therefore do not stick out. They look nice and allow me to always use the same cable between the SDA drivers and the stereo drivers. I am using ten feet of Monster's original between the SDA drivers with removable bananna plugs on each end. It was a pretty simple procedure. I removed the passive radiator and inspected the inside getting an idea where I would drill. I drilled the holes for the female bananna terminals, clipped the SDA driver wires and soldered them to the female bananna terminals respectivly. I was careful to use a drill bit that was perfectly matched for the terminals. Just to be sure I dabbed a bit of black silicone around the connector on the inside of the cabinet. The connections are secure and actually look factory. The only issue being that a new owner....sometime down the road, would mistake this config for BI-WIRE. I need to make some type of metal tag and attatch it just under the female banannas illustrating the configuration. So, tell me guys......did I butcher them? They sound quite nice. Surprising bass speed. The imaging is nice but sometimes seems a bit exagerated. I am now a Polk speaker specialists....Ha!

    Hey, if it works.......

I'm not so sure about your choice of cable however.

    Welcome to the forum.

Do your speakers have the pin/blade or blade/blade socket on the back?

Ok, you've got the right speakers with the right cable to enjoy mono blocks. Polkbaby can't use the AI-1 cable with his SDA's, which means he can't use mono blocks either.

I also just bought a pair of sda - crs,( no iterconnect either)
They are in pretty nice condition.
They have the blade blade sockets.
They have two fuse holders on each.
They also have two tweeters in each.

    Now some details and questions.
One woofer popped at a somewhat loud level. (it wasn't as loud
as you all think :) ).Turned down a bit it played o.k., so back up
went the knob a little and shure enough pop,pop rattle:mad: .

I have plenty of spare woofers but I havn't checked their model
    # with the parts guide.I have Model 10s 7s 5s but Im going to order a replacement asap.(mw6503)
When It popped and rattled I went to remove it and noticed the
coil wires on the cone faced in a different dirrection than the others.Maybe some one looked at it already, maybe not. When I
took it out ,One female connecting pin was broken on one side
of the (U).Probibly made a loose connection when turned up.
When I bought them, they only had fuses in the top holders
I put in some really (really) thin fuses below and things seemed the same.
NOW here's where it gets scary for me to tell you
and ask you . I Thought I saw lamp cord used for an interconnect.

so Yes I did:eek: .I joined lg. slot to lg. and sm. to sm.
The sound seemed to change .I'm sure it did.Watching the woofers I thought I saw woofers pumping in different directions
in each cabinet. Two woofers ,different dir.by eachone
The sound seemed overly bright though. Maybe because I don't have them placed against a wall yet.
Well I was looking at them tonight again and had to re-insert
the (lamp cord)interconnect and I switched the polarity:eek: by
some strange ignorance. The receiver relay shut it off instantly.
As for the little fuses? (only one blew).Upper ones o.k.
Now with no interconect and when I install another fuse the
highs from the tweeters diminish greatly from that one speaker.
The sound dosn't change in the other speaker when I remove or insert the same fuse into its lower holder.

Will there be assistance from the POLK SDA professors or
    criticism:(
I work long hours so my replys might come the next day.thanks
    for any words of hope.
