Who starts these rumors over there? I'd say they are gaining in popularity, but no where near buying them in huge numbers.

None of my friends, family or coworkers even have one.

I'd say they are still an enthusists medium. Give it another 5 years, after the prices drop and more TV is broadcast in HD. Then we might see a growth spurt.

I got mine, and all indications are that sales are gaining momentum.

5 years from now, all the broadcast signals will be HD so time to prepare for the future.

Actually, no they won't. All broadcasts will be digital, HD is a differnt animal, (or sock, if your Micah).

Due to the price drop the last year or so, I sell about 10 HD big screens to every 1 non-HD.
36" and lower is the complete opposite.

Fabian: HDtv's are selling much more than a year ago simply because of price drops and obviously picture quality. An hdtv now is approx. half the price of what it was one & half years ago, and better. But with the statement {in huge numbers} not true. You know how salesmen are---they tell you what you WANT to hear not always the truth. I would say more like 2-3 years maximum hdtv's will sell in huge numbers. Simply because most Americans are very impatient and we want to get ahead of the ballgame. If everything goes good for business this year I will purchace the Sony 57xbr widescreen. A beautiful tv at an awesome price. That will finish my system perfectly. Always a pleasure my friend from down under.......GOOD DAYYY.
