OK- The wife just told me that she read someplace that a kid is normally 4 or 5 before he/she is officially potty-trained; no bed wetting (No night time diapers), unsupervised bathroom, no coaxing, no diapers/trainers. My daughter's been doing this since she turned 3.

Anybody else's kids get 'em trained at 3, or is my dw correct, --again...

My daughter turns 3 on Mar 1st, and she is NOT potty trained. She knows how to say she has to go to the bathroom, she'll take off her pull up, sit on the potty, and do her business. When she's done, she'll wipe, wash her hands, dry them, put on a new pull up, and the deal's done. That's on a good day. On most, she'll pee, ****, whatever, in her dyper. Or she'll take it off, and go on the floor. Sometimes she'll do this with a poopy and then play with her ****. GOD!!! Makes you want to pull your hair out! I hate to break it to you, but your wife is probably right. Just like mine is about EVERYTHING...

It seems like my kids were around 3 to 3 1/2 or so when they were completely potty trained.

ahh, is that what your mom told you.. :D to make ya feel better.. when you asked her after reading this thread, 2 is quite young to be potty trained, My 2 1/2 year old daughter isnt trained yet.. she has used her potty, but not exclusively

Of course i was just kidding Airplay :D 2 is really young, and 4or 5 is really late.. However kids work at their own pace and its not right or wrong when they get ready.. 2,3,4 makes no difference.. unless they go to school or daycare.. then they have to be trained already...

Took care of that as soon as possible. Both my son and daughter were good to go at 2 1/2 - 3 years old.

My son was stubborn but after letting him sink Cheerios in the toilet it was a cake walk! :D

Listen to a grandparent (me), 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 is right on, generally speaking....they're all different. Your daughters' fine. You'll need to wipe those booties for another 2 yrs though...

One thing that helps is buy her some "big girls panties" you'll be amazed how quick they come around. Only took my 2 grandsons weeks after they got their "Spiderman" underwear to get on-board...;)

Yeah, one night i just put regular panties on her and put her to bed, that was at 2.75 years old. She pissed the bed once that night and hasn't worn a diaper and had an accident since.

The DW was trying to tell me how rare and lucky we are to have a kid PT so yound and not to have my hope up so high for our newborn son.

Of course, i think my daughter is pretty smart because she not only knows how to turn on the HT and get it set up to 5.1 for her DVDs, further, she walked her grandmother through it one night while mimi was babysitting.

Now, if I could just teach her how the 1 down, five up tranny works on the bike, I'd really be heading for the dog house...

i had to go to daycare, and started school when i was 4 so i had to be trained early. i just asked my mom about it and she said girls tend to take longer then boys but every kid is different.

try some classical conditioning. my cousin loved hot wheels cars so my aunt bought a huge pack of them and every time he went on the potty he got to take out a new car. i think the positive reinforcement route would work better as long as u found a reward worth it.

    Man, that's awesome.

Will your aunt send me a fresh, blister pack Hwheel if I refrain from shitting my flat hat?
