subwoofer ps404

i just puschased this for my home reciever, my problem is my rca pre out on my receiver for sub is not working. my question is by connecting it to main speaker inputs and wiring front speakers to sub and setting reciever to large and no sub, will i lose sound performance like this rather than going through my sub rca input and setting rec. to small speakers and sub on?

well, if your sub out isn't working, then you definitely won't loose any performance going that route.

Ideally, you'd want to use the sub out on the receiver, but it shouldn't make that big of a difference in your case...

Not knowing what receiver you have this may or may not work. Many mid to high end receivers these days have Pre outs for all channels and the can be used simultaneously with the main channel speaker outputs. So given this scenerio you can run the main channel Pre outputs to your sub and connect your speakers to the main channel speakers connectors on your receiver. This will give your your speakers the perfromance of your receiver ant ot scarificing fidelity!
