Acoustic Research Pro Series Cables...

They've got these at great prices at ac4l.com. Does anyone know if they're any good? I want to replace my monster s video cable, and get a better subwoofer cable. Radio Shack doesn't carry the Fusion series cables anymore, which sucks. I've got a Fusion optical and analog audio cable, and they're quite nice, especially considering how much I paid for them.

Thanks for the replies. It looks like I'll go ahead and upgrade my cables while the prices are still good.

I was lucky I found all of mine at a surplus shop. prices like 12$ for component cables 9$ for digcoax svid for 6$ all unopened packages. They are thick kinda hard to pplay around with. The connections are solid you can unscrew them and take a look. this is all for the AR pro II. Lots of insulation and protection. As far as the sound I enjoy them can't tell the difference between their reg cables and the pro series II. They look like a quality cable.

Sam Tellig of Stereophile was calling the AR interconnects a "best kept secret."

    Go for it...

For some reason, I've always gotten better results from their normal blue performance series. Whichever Pro series that I've used (both older and new II series), have sounded slightly more constricted and dull. I've actually done better with the now discontinued Radio Shack Fusion cables, and in some cases, the regular Gold series interconnects. Wierd.

    MSkeezer,

Thanks for the thread. I was about to post the same questions. I need to purchase more 'Sound King' 12awg (I love this cable) speaker cable from Parts Express and ran accross Pro ll series cabling. I need two 12 ft. runs of the Component video cables since I'm moving my rack to give me more front stage room. Rack is gonna' end up inside a closet that isn't being used....for now anyway.

And thanks polkies for the responses. No negatives so I'm gonna' give 'em a whirl.

    Greg

By the way, the present Component cables are Mon#^%... so that is one more elimination. A few more to go. Believe me guys, there is a LOT better cabling out there than Mon$%^ for a FRACTION of the price. I've been hearing this forever it seems on this forum and am now experiencing it for myself. Finally losing some of my ignorance perhaps......

Wow, I bought a PRO series sub cable and it simply would not make a good ground, it was the only product of AR I ever bought and kinda soured me on them, by the looks of all the positive posts for them it was just a fluke.

Good idea to relocate the electronics in a closet. I use a RS IR to RF converts that allows me to use the remotes.

I put the electronics in the basement under the speakers for a shorter cable run.

Your Honey will like the relocation idea and may let you buy more stuff.
