Another new Polkie

I just agreed to sell my spare receiver to a new Polkie. My brother in-law took his friend speaker shopping tonight. The guy was looking to spend $400-600 cnd. and was planning on buying one of those crappy Japanese HTB. Fortunately he called for help, and my brother in-law (ex FS employee also) was able to help him. Instead of the JVC or Panny HTB he was going to buy he got an open box Polk RM6700 with the 303 sub for $430. I'm selling him my Yamaha 5660 receiver for $150 (delivered too, about 150 km) putting his total somewhere around the $600 mark after taxes on the speakers.

Talk about one happy guy, they had to sort through a couple of sets of the speakers to find ones in excellent condition (3 out of 5 still wrapped and taped in the plastic, all in original packaging) but he's moving up about 1000% over what he was planning to buy.

Anyone else in Calgary looking, there is still a set of black RM6700 at the McLeod FS but apparently there fairly damaged. At the point of purchase the sales guy was trying to get his boss to come down from the $425 price to compensate.

Anyways... just glad to help someone new get started with something he can build on if he chooses.
