Got a nice deal on a new, looks to not have been out of the box Parasound HCA-1500A power amp tonight! I missed getting the PHP-850 pre-amp by literally minutes :-( I might still get it because the person that bought it was a virtual audio expert who insisted that it was an integrated amp and wanted it because it was small. I told the seller to give me a call if they brought it back un-damaged. I have the original receipt for the amp and pre-amp from the sellers brother, does anybody know if the warranty will transfer?
My Yamaha AX-900U integrated has pre-outs so I can use it temporarily. I'll be chasing down a real pre-amp now, so if anyone has a nice one to sell, let me know!

I have a dead-quiet NAD 1020A. Original box, packing, and manual. Not exactly loaded with features and maybe that's why it's dead quiet.

The Parasound warranty is not transferable. Nice amp.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

George Grand - pm sent.
Dorokusai - I did factor that into the purchase price when I bought it! Seems to power up and work fine based on initial test. And it smells new!DKG999

Congrats on your new amp!Political Correctness'.........defined

DK - It sounds as though you worked that deal like a pro. I hope it doesn't smell like anything, that might not be good, haha.
I'd get the NAD. I had a NAD1130 that I have since passed onto Reeltrouble1, and as simple as it was, it was an excellent pre-amp.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. As Doro said the NAD pre's are excellent, I will not parting with mine in the near future, highly recommend you pick one up from GG if available.

Don't sweat it. I bought my Parasound new from an "unauthorized" dealer and got it for $725. So far the risk paid off.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

The seller just called me and the PHP-850 pre-amp has returned! Seems the buyer couldn't make it work with his system and thought it was broken. I told the seller I would pay the same amount if I could verify that it is working correctly, so I am picking it up tonight. At this point I am into the PHP-850 and the HCA-1500A for $525. Even if this pre-amp isn't very good, I can trade-up later. I'm hoping it's good enough to get my by for now.DKG999
