The owners really don't have a lot of choice but to try and get some linkage between revenues and wages. The number they are after is 55% of revenues to player wages. With revenues around 2 billion thatis 1.1 billion to split between approx. 700 players. I know this is over simplified but it is close to accurate. They have also to agreed to profit share with the players any money over $120 million in profit 50/50 (basically 3 million per team). So if the players feel the league is healthy and has a good product then they should be willing to accept this offer.
Problem is, define revenue. There are a million ways to "cook" the books to make the revenues look smaller. I am sure this is why the players do not want to link their wages to revenue.Setup:
