For the first time in over four months I got my lazy butt out for a mountain bike ride. Most of the ride could hardly be considered "mountain" biking, but I was struggling! I'm beat. That's what I get for doing practically zero exercise in those four months. Don't be lazy like me; get out there and exercise!

    HA!

I played racquetball the other day, and almost passed out after only playing for an hour. Jeeez, it felt like someone has kicked the crap outta me. I love that game.

Those are some nice looking speakers.

All of us 12-year-olds here on the Polk forum who have some high frequency hearing left, can't handle those horns, though.:D

Yea - i wish that was my getup!

    It's a j.pg from the Klipsch Gallery.

I do have the RF7's (shown) in maple being driven by an AE-25 Super Amp. I just do 2 channel. If I did multichannel with my level of expectation I would go bankrupt!

The new horns aren't the ear bleeders they used to be - if they were you can bet I wouldn't be listening to them.

They especially do well with tube amps. My AE-25 is a 15 watt push-pull triode amp. It doesn't sound like a lot of power - but when your speakers are 102 db/w you don't need much. As a matter of fact - I can get the same SPL's with my rig as some of you guys get driving your Polks at 200 watts.

I'm trying to build a second system. I've got a Bryston 3B-ST and Sonic Frontiers SFL-1 preamp that I'm trying to put some speakers to. I'm taking a real hard look at those LSi9's right now.

I auditioned the older version of their reference speakers both in the store and at my ex-girlfriend's house (her dad had a surround system based around those). I guess they most closely match the RF-3's. I found them to be extremely dull and lifeless and to be pretty bass-shy, especially considering the dual 8" drivers. I'm not trying to insult you or your rig, but that's what I heard. This was about five years ago though.....

Speaking of getting winded walking up stairs, I'm just lucky that all my classes at college are pretty much all on the same level as my house. My campus is on the side of a mountain, so walking to class can be an exercise. Freshman year I lived high up the mountain (like all the other freshman), and all my classes were down the mountain. I remember the first week of college my legs and butt were sore from walking.

interesting - i don't know what you heard Aaron but it wasn't the Reference line - it didn't exist that long ago.

You probably heard the Synergy Series. Probably these:

Some Klipsch stuff sounds very flat with the average amplifcation produced by recievers.

You are right joe - they do have a little of that quality you describe. The imaging is somewhat diffuse.

Aaron - well, that is about the price point Reference comes in at. Maybe you didn't hear them as long ago as you thought.

Hey - let's talk Polk! I only posted the picture because Troy was yankin my chain.
