Back surrounds
What do you all recommend for a back-surround speaker, in a 6.1 setup (6ch amp only) that will be mounted on the ceiling?
Do you think a dipole surround like a FXi3/etc will work well for this?
Currently I'm using an old Cambridge center channel, and it actually works ok but the side surrounds have been disappointing ever since I moved into my new place, so I'm thinking of replacing them with ie. FXi3s and would like the back-surround to match (then all my speakers would be Polks too
Is that gonna work well or should I get a Polk center channel for the back?

You will probably want to find some FXi30's or FXi50's to match your system if you want di/bipoles.
There are a couple of different ways to mount them to the ceiling. The 30's are a little lighter weight, so they would be preferred.
Will they be placed in front of, behind, or beside your listening postion?Tschüss

Yeah they no longer make the 30's though. I've been browsing ebay but never seem to find any. Other problem is where to buy a single, since they are sold in pairs...
The sides are mounted well in front of the listening position. Unfortunately this is the only way to mount them. When I designed the room I had only a small 27" television and sat a lot closer, but since getting the 46" bigscreen I have to sit a bit farther back Anyway that's why the dipole "angled" speakers would be great I think, they would face backwards.
The back is mounted on the ceiling about 3 feet behind the couch.- Sony 50"A3000 SXRD; Onkyo TX-SR 805

You are looking for a single FXi30? Well, if you don't mind the shameless plug, I've been trying to sell a set of right channel FXi30's for a while now. I would give you a good deal on a single Here is the thread that I started to try and sell them: FXi30's.
Have you looked at www.audiogon.com for a set of FXi30's. I think there is a set on there right now.
A set of FX300i's might be okay too if you can find them.
Hope this helps.
PM me if you are interested.
