Importance of a good forum

There is a number of thoughts regarding the popularity of another forum and the fact regarding the amount of hits vs members, yet the content is average, eg some nasty debates. My thoughts are, example, Bose produce more speakers than other, does that make them better, in my opinion no. This Forum has more members yet it has less hits but the quality of the contents is synonamys with the Polk product. Sure Micah And Justin can open the floodgates and allow a lot more derogatry posts and I can assure you all this will impact 2 fold on the hits but hey, we are Polk lovers and respect Quality over sensless brand debates. Just my thoughts, I hope I have not offended anyone, Regards Fabian :)

    You know what?

    Current performance belies this statement:

"the quality of the contents [on this forum] is synonamys [I'm sure you mean synonymous] with the Polk product. Sure Micah And Justin can open the floodgates and allow a lot more derogatry posts..."

I don't think we could get "more derogatory" posts than we've been having recently.

I think we really need to rethink how we act on this forum. We need to be more of a welcoming Polk family. There's just no two ways about it. The quality of posting that would be synonymous with the quality of our product is not being demonstrated. I'm really getting depressed over it.

    Micah -

please don't be depressed - they are only testing me

I have already separated the class acts from the wankers

    Fabian,

I'm sorry our site offends your sensibilities. Most Americans thrive on healthy debate and many of us have a difficult time tolerating mediocrity. The Klipsch site is made up of some very strong personalities that exemplify that spirit.

It bothers us deeply that Amar Bose makes a living from ripping off our audiophile brethren.

We compare brands and evaluate them without mercy. We do it to protect each other from buying poor products.

I couldn't agree with you more.

We really do need to look at ourselves and what we are doing to be honest. Human nature dictates that not all of us are going to like each other or have the same opinions.

However, comma, we do have a responsibility to respect each others opinions and views. That is just common courtesy folks.

What I like about this forum is the people, in the end that is what keeps me coming back. There are some really good folks here guys, regardless of what gear they own or don't own.

The state of the forum is ultimately a reflection not so much on Polk as they are the hosts but us. And I got to admit, lately, I am ashamed.

Glad to see that "you" have separated all the wheat from the chaff Dean/Klipschead...

People... leave the man alone... leave the issue alone... I'm glad Micah has a good vision for this forum; I think I might just stick around because of it.

Besides, it seems that D/K is enjoying all this attention regardless of what he says. Why else would he continue to post like he does?

Off I go to start a serious topic in this forum...

As a counterpoint to all this senselessness (is that a word?), perhaps we should look at the forum as a place to let our alter ego run rampant. No need to go to a psychologist anymore; let it all out on the Polk Forum. That guy bothering you? Why try to get along? Don't hold back; tell him how you really feel. Hmm, maybe that's not such a good idea. Oh, well.

G,day, Dean, Dont worry I am not offended over any debates, I am on record on this forum canning Bose over the way they RIP people off, and although I have nothing angainst what Bose produce, I cannot understand why they charge 3 times what their product is realy worth, so yes we should debate whatever to protect the unwary. PS Micah, The Man, HOW YOU GOING, You must excuse my spelling from time to time as most times I am on this forum its around 3.30am Aussie time. At the moment its 5.25 am Friday, Kind regards to all,,,, Fabian:) :):)

Trust me when I say this.....I got royally screwed by Bose. But as I said on my very first post here.....I have turned from the error of my ways and bought POlk. I have now seen the light........turned from the darkside......you name it Bose made me do the opposite. I am now an official spokesman for why not to buy a Bose system. Especially anything related to Accoustimass and Lifestyle. (Yes I bought a Lifestyle) And I never felt so violated in my life.......well except for that prostate exam. But if you compare Bose to prostate exams you know you got screwed! :o
