I stole, errr ...bought these recently and they have become my favourite speakers. They aren't as detailed in the midrange as my Monitor 3s or Minis or TangBands, but they have much better bass and are not fatiguing at all. They are very smooth sounding and image very well.
I built some temporary stands out of plywood. They are angled back about 3 degrees.

They are AMAZING speakers. Take a look at the Carolina Polk Gathering showcase for the 'family' pair.
That's a Peerless, double fused model, EARLY. I'm talking Dickeyville era early, circa 1978 or so.
One listen the the 7a's (such as yours), and one soons realizes why out of all the garage-based speaker companies of the era Polk was one that 'made it', while so many others didn't.

Coolo. Yeah they are definitely great speakers. Better than any others I have heard from that era. The drivers are all original.
They dont sound like any modern speakers I have hear either, and thats a good thing IMO. The more I listen, the more I like them. Very solid build and the crossovers appear to be very high quality as well.Graham -

Gate - Those look fantastic. If you ever want to move them to make room....look no farther.
Did you make the stands based on the information I provided? Or did you wing it? I am just wondering.
The stands look dead-on.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
Yes, very nice find indeed...
Drivers look pristine...More later,

_very_ nice. But, don't they distort your TV at all? Just seems a little close for these speakers.Ludicrous gibs!

Nope. They big grey box on the right is an unshielded subwoofer too. Never had any problems.Graham -

I see, I am easily confused.Graham -
Doro has it right.
Whoops, that pic is too big. Sorry.
Also, it looks like the finishes are a bit different. But you can see how similar they are.

Looks good L&C. I think the finishes are the same. My camera takes really crappy, dark pics in that room. For example, the cones on the Paradigms are clear in the pic, but in real life you can barely see through them.Graham
