DEMO # 8 :
DH Labs Silver Sonic - 2M
This cable was entered by our own Dave Shepard. The cable itself is DH Labs, but I have called it a "hybrid" due to the non-DH Labs terminations. The actual terminations were done by a professional shop, and have been burned in, and tested previously.
If you like this cable or wish to know more about it, please contact Dave Shepard directly at: dts@svol.net
Dave has subsequently become a DH Labs, certified cable installer and stocks bulk T-14 speaker and BL-1 interconnect cable. You may order them terminated, or non-terminated.
Dave is a real cool guy, and has really been proactive and helpful in this venture for the forum.
The Cable-
SILVER SONIC BL-1 Series II Interconnect is a high performance audio interconnect cable that combines the highest sound quality and reliability available at its price point. In the tradition of our highly acclaimed SILVER SONIC T-14 High Resolution Speaker Cable, SILVER SONIC BL-1 is made in USA and uses the finest materials available, including high purity silver, Teflon and oxygen-free copper.
SILVER SONIC BL-1 is a balanced cable designed for use with both RCA and XLR connectors. It is 100% shielded, and can operate in close proximity to digital equipment without noise pick up. The conductors consist of slow drawn oxygen free copper, which are coated with pure silver, the silver coating thickness being chosen to provide optimum synergy with the OFC base metal. The conductors are insulated with a special Teflon copolymer dielectric.
Silver Sonic BL-1 uses large 20 gauge conductors for low signal loss. Every spool is tested, and our Teflon insulators are made to the highest standards in the industry. Cables are terminated with special silver bearing solders and the finest connectors available. Each connector is meticulously hand soldered by carefully trained craftspeople. Bulk lengths are also available for custom installations.

I want to share my experience with Mr Shepards cables. I had the fortune of listening to the interconnects and speaker cables(first in the club I believe) and will say there is huge value in them. I sent the connects with a piar of monitor 5's to a rookie Polkie and the cables to Russ and am glad to hear they are making their rounds.
I'm not going to get all stereophile in my review because I'm not very bright but if I had the DH Labs prior to my purchase of AQ CV6's, I would have never bought the CV6's. The DH Labs is a very revealing cable and is seemless with tube gear and of course SS.
I am really looking forward to reading all of your responses.
Mr Shepard do you think it possible to provide a GREAT Connector end that could fit some vintage gear?

I would take it as a privelage if you would sell me a set of Silver Sonics with a good solid connection on the amp end(OLD SCHOOL) and spades on the other.

Unless you change the binders, get used to bare wire. You could crimp a generic spade terminal on the wire, but I wouldn't bother.
I'm sure Dave can simply terminate one end and not the other.
DH Labs doesn't make chassis connectors to my knowledge. If you want great chassis connectors, go to www.vampirewire.comCTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
I demoed this IC for a couple of weeks against my Transparent Plus IC with MM technology. Overall, I like the tone of the DH Labs and found it slightly warmer in the upper frequencies than Transparent. Voices seemed to be more centered (narrower sounding) than the Transparent and overall soundstage was a little narrower too. Besides these minor differences the two were very close.
A good interconnect for the money and highly recommended. You people need to sign up for a demo. It will only cost you $3.86 to ship USPS to the next person (that price includes shipping box).
