So what does everyone think of this HDTV controversy with the copy protection stuff. I am wondering when they decide what will be the standard interface either DVI or firewire are the hdtv's u buy now that dont have either input are they just only going to be good for over the air HDTV. I was looking to buy a new tv but dont really want to buy one when they could become sorta useless.

I just bought a 65" Mitsu. HDTV Widescreen. I understand your
concern with the formating confusion. I decided I couldn't wait
for "them" to make a decision. During the shopping process, and
lots and lots of reviews, a Pioneer Elite gained by utmost
admiration as far as actual viewing quality. I decided to take
one last 'trip' through the stores before taking the plunge.
Came across the Mitsu. that had just been brought back into
the store because it wouldn't go up the stairs of this guy's house.
Made an offer of 2000.00 and it was mine. Mitsu.'s were one of
three or four I liked so what the heck. After almost two months
now, I am confident I made the right decision. The picture
quality and performance are truely amazing! Anyway, the point
of this is that Mitsu. Corp. gaurantees the HDTV set to not become
obsolete/incompatable or they will upgrade it for free. You may
review the aggreement on the website www.mitsubishi-tv.com
I gamble all my hopes and dreams on a "promise" from a manufacturer, but it does help ease your mind a bit if you are
actually going to purchase a TV. What do I think will happen in
    the future? Who knows?!?!
