Basically, I want to ask if you can connect 6 ohm speakers to
an 8 ohm only receiver. I have no clue about this so any help would be good. The speaker in question is bookshelf size.
Thanks

Without making a blanket statement for all receivers, I believe most receivers will be able to handle a 6 ohm load without a problem.
Most problems occur when a receiver is faced with a 4 ohm load.
As a precaution, put your hand on the receiver after it has run the speakers for a while. It should be cool to warm to the touch. If the receiver is too hot to touch, then find a different receiver or speakiers.

Its an onkyo tx-903 to a pair of small mission ms-50.

According to the manual, it looks like you can hook up a set of 4 ohm speakers to output A or B, not both. So, a set of 6 ohm speakers should be okay.
Here is where I downloaded the manual:tx-903Tschüss
