I read that MOMO grilles tend to get in the way of the surround is that true? Is there any loss of SQ or SPL when the MOMO grilles are added? I have two MM2124 in a sealed box.

excursion on the mm104 / 124 is far greater than that on the 2104 / 2124...

    you won't have an issue.

if you do by some freak chance - put small nylon washer spacers behind the grill and it'll be peachy.

no loss in sq or spl - least none that you'll notice.

on paper i'm sure you can show a minor spl loss - but as i said - you're never gonna hear it in this lifetime.
