Excellent movie. Tremendous acting, not just Jamie Foxx, but the whole cast. A definite buy for me (and I rarely buy movies).

Watched it a lil bit ago, like couple days...

I liked it, the extended version is terrible - the way they did it...

    But great movie over all!

I know! WTF's up with that?!!
The little music notes show up then it's like they hack into the movie with the additional footage, then hack their way out. Found that to be VERY annoying - ended up switching to the theater version, to keep me from getting a headache!

I HONESTLY - LOVED the double showing of a clip, where it tells his son how he can tell what the colors are...

The extended version was a mess, I changed over to the Theatrical version after about 5 -10 minutes. I thought my DVD player was spazzing out.

What an exceptional movie. Jamie Foxx continues to prove himself to be an excellent actor.

I quickly realized too that the extended presentation was going to be annoying. Glad I made the switch early.

    Oh calm down.

Okay. The extended version is just presented very awkwardly. Its not a seamless experience. Everytime something 'extended' becomes part of the movie, this musical note icon appears in the bottom letterbox. Its very abrupt in that my DVD player, and others, hesistate when making the transition between the theatrical and extended version. Also, I'm not certain if it continues since I turned it off, but at least the first extended part, the PQ was pretty bad.

    Therefore, its sucky.

I saw this last weekend and wow....BORING.

I mean, it's interesting to see his life, but to feel like you're living every minute of the movie sucks.

It wasn't a 'movie' to me.....it was a glorified documentary. I wasn't entertained....I found out stuff I didn't know, but when the first hour of a movie makes ya feel like you've already been sitting down for over 2 hours, somethings wrong. Good performances by the cast, sure......but it's still just a documentary IMO.

I watched it at my sisters up in UT, and will be returning my unopened/unwatched version in a few days........

Foxx is a very good actor. He made Collateral a great movie. He was also very good in 'Redemption' playing Tookie, the leader & founder of the Crips. The movie itself wasn't very good, but he definitely did a fine acting job. I'm looking forward to more of his roles.

See how compared to Will Smith this IS actually a good actor?

    Well it shouldnt be suprising.

Who wouldve thought Robin Williams would turn out to be such a tremendous dramatic actor when watching Mork and Mindy.

Or that Tom Hanks would turn out to be possibly the greatest actor of our time when watching him dress up like a woman on Bosom Buddies.

Or that Steve Martin would be an awesome actor when watching him say "excuuuuuuse me" with and arrow thru his head on SNL.

He's not an academy award winning actor but compared to 98% of other SNL actors, hes very good. Id still say he's as good as anybody out there now, and a whole hell of a lot better than anybdy that started out with an arrow thru their head! :p
