Bi-wire Question

I`m getting some speaker cables for my cool new set up, and I have a stupid question....

I have a Parasound HCA-3500 and the speaker hook up on the back of the unit has two sets of connectors to wire single or bi-wire.

Should I get two sets of cables and use all four binding posts,
or one shotgun bi-wire cable.
Will two give me a better sound than one shotgun ?
Or am I just making things more complicated than need be as usual..

Really, the only thing that another set of cables will add is more cable running from the amp to the speakers...which will still be so with a dedicated self-contained bi-wire set of cables, but just tidier in the latter case. In terms of what's going on at the amp end and the speaker end, there would be no difference. Tonally (and electricaly), no difference.

Well, that's debatable. It really depends on the gauge of wire used for both methods.

Bear, the answer to your question can only be answered by trying it each way. What works for one set up doesn't work for another. I thought I'd try bi-wiring with shotgun runs sometime ago, but found I didn't like it. Still using the shotgun cable I then replaced the jumpers with high end cable from the same company that made my shotgun runs (which also effectively increased the gauge) and that was the answer.....beautiful music, just like magic. So you see, there's more than one way to get "there."

If you do bi-wire, I'd use the extra posts provided, and run 2 separate cables.

I bi-wired my Spendor 1/2's at last weeks meet with PS Audio Statement on the lows, and Chord Rumor II's on the highs - it was nothing short of outstanding. (8awg and 18awg).

    Cheers,

I was looking into Signal cables ultra double run, and the double run shotgun...

Maybe the double run on bottom and the single on top , or just two double runs..
