component/composite audio sharing?

Greetings!
I'm sure this has been covered, but I couldn't quite find it.
A quick ? for the audio gurus--
A new tv that has only one set of audio jacks to share between the
component and composite jacks.
All other hook ups aside--I want to hook the dvd to component and the vcr to the composite.but they need to share that
one audio jack.
only one source will be used at a time,as you can imagine.
What's the best way?
A y splitter of some sort? 4 females to 2 males?
Trying to avoid one of those switch box selecter things-and no audio degradation by sharing.
Anyone have a link to a product,or a suggestion?
Thanx in advance!

Assuming you don't have a receiver, use the vcr to switch the audio. Connect the audio out from your DVD to an unused input on your VCR. Connect your VCR audio out to your TV audio in. When watching DVDs, switch the VCR to the unused input, and switch the video on your TV to component.
