I got the MMC6500's and everyplace I read and asked said that they would fit my 2004 4runner As it turns out the factory set up is 6x9. I want to stick with the components. Do these conversion kits work I've heard mixed reviews. Any other ideas that aren't overly complicated (I'm running out of money for complicated (-: )

I did get the Orion 4004 and the Alpine head unit installed and I can't believe how much better it sounds just running the factory speakers!!!! I can't wait to hear the MMC6500's! Thanks again for the advice.

Do what I did. I went down to Lowes and bought a sheet of 1/4" birch plywood and cut out baffle plates. A whole lot cheper than a $25 adapter kit, not to mention wood is a 100 times better mounting surface than the plastic adapters.

Go to "The Install" thread. I have some pics of the baffles I made to stick my 6.75" MM6's in 6x9 wholes.

6x9 wholes? Like the whole 6x9 or the whole MM6... I'm confused. How exactly to you cut a whole.. if you cut something it isn't whole anymore.. please elaborate more macleod!!!
